Choosing the Perfect Photograph for your Baby Birth Announcement

When designing your baby birth announcement you determine the design, structure the layout, finalize the wording and wait for the big day to arrive so you can take a photograph to complete the ensemble. But what is the best photograph for your birth announcement?
Many people go for one of the initial images, even the first image of the child after birth (after cleaning and swaddling obviously). This is the choice of the devout historian that feels the first image is the true image and the only choice for the birth announcement. This is not always the best choice for some people.
An image of the child that celebrates their early personality is always fun. If you’ve been telling everyone about how baby Alex holds his ear when he sleeps, then this is an ideal trait to capture on film. Of course as the months pass, the trait will fade away but the memory will not. It will make a great story for your child as they grow.
A laughing smiling baby is always charming on the front of a birth announcement. It can be a difficult facial expression to catch on a newborn but an alternative waits in the wing. A gassy baby is a smiling baby. Good timing and a full belly will provide.
Choose an image where the baby is wearing colors that compliment their natural skin tone and won’t become dated quickly. Placing your child in the height of this year’s fashion may be a mistake. A few years from now what was once a nice picture of your darling girl is a throwback to former times. Choose neutral designs that bring out the best in baby.
When it comes down to it the perfect baby photo for your birth announcement is the one you like the best. If it has some or all of the qualities mentioned here, alls the better. If there is one photograph you keep coming back to, one that makes you smile and maybe cry every time you look at it, you know that’s the one.
Because if the image makes your friends and family both smile and cry you can be sure they’ll keep the announcement forever.
