Unique Birth Announcement Ideas

I’m a big fan of custom printing when it comes to birth announcements but that doesn’t mean you have to send a card.  There are a number of different ways to use custom printed labels and stickers to decorate baby themed items for the perfect birth announcement.

Baby food jars filled with chocolate or candies. Of course you don’t want to waste any actual baby food you have already purchased. Ask mom friends to save their jars for you. It won’t take more than a couple of weeks to create a large supply.  A similar idea would be to use baby bottles. In the case of bottles it would be best to buy them new. They come in mutli packs and are very inexpensive at the dollar store and close out retailers. Just place your birth announcement sticker or label on the front and hand out or mail to friends and family.

The candy wrapper birth announcement still holds sway and online printers are ready to make your custom labels at a moment’s notice. Add a more creative touch to this idea by making your own chocolate bars rather than using a branded product and just covering the label. Have a little fun with the ingredients and name the concoction after your newborn child.

Baby business cards are a unique way of presenting newborn statistical information as well as providing websites and passwords to online photo albums and baby blogs. Choose the business card template for a kindergarten or babysitter to get started and just fill in your own information. Present the business card with a cookie with the baby’s name on or even an image for the perfectly sweet finishing touch.

Create buttons for friends and family with the baby’s image and birth details they can wear on their shirt or attach to their purse or jacket.  Alternatively, create custom stickers with the details on and send one inside the printed birth announcements. This provides friends and family both the traditional keepsake as well as something to show off their pride.

Use these ideas for baby shower favors or as tokens of appreciation if you have your heart set on printed birth announcements. Mixing and matching your ideas and announcement mediums can be fun and memorable for both you and your family members.  Think about what you like, what works with your preferences and then create something visual stunning and hopefully tear jerking. You have all those hormones surging through you, use them to your advantage and get passionate and creative about unique birth announcement ideas.
