Images with Mommy: Birth Announcements for Mother Day

405968725_6e57bc6718_mAs that most special of days for mom approaches it’s important to think about all those babies lucky enough to be born on Mother’s Day. What a gift for the new parents. Whether your child is born on Mother’s Day or not, including a picture of mom and the new baby on the birth announcement is just beautiful.

There are so many different ways you can go when including mom on the birth announcement photograph. Think about whether the image would look better in black and white or color, a frontal image or side view. Personally I think mom holding baby in front of her at eye level makes for a great picture. A silhouette always looks fantastic.

Consider placing mom and baby in matching colors or outfits or at least being aware of how the clothes depicted compliment or contrast each other. This is a photo of mom and baby that will be treasured for more than one lifetime and composition details are important. There is always the mom hand holding the baby hand image if you want something more abstract and modern on your baby’s birth announcement card.

If mom and baby only share one distinguishing feature and baby favors dad at this early age that’s okay. Depict that feature prominently on the birth announcement for friends and family to share in the similarity. Heads close together can show off similar eyes, noses and other facial features. If it’s a coloring similarity such as skin or hair be aware of how that comes out on the digital camera.
Just because your baby is born on Mother’s Day does not mean mom has to be in the birth announcement picture. It makes a great image for a custom printed card for grandma or sister and works well for baby gift thank you cards. Just be sure to share this special moment with as many as you can.
