Baby Announcements

If you have the photograph for your baby’s birth announcement before you have found the actual theme for your announcement consider something fun that compliments the photograph. Here are a few ideas for baby announcement themes that help frame the perfect photograph.

Bath time, bubbles and rubber ducks.  If you caught your darling baby at their cutest right after that first bath, wrapped in a ducky shaped towel or with bubbles in their hair go with it on your birth announcement. Use a frame design that compliments but does not overwhelm your image. For instance if you have the baby wrapped in a towel a frame of bubbles and a single rubber duck in one corner is just enough. It’s not unusual to have receiving blankets, baby clothes and burp cloths in the back ground of your baby’s first pictures.  If the smile is just impossible to resist turn it into a laundry scene on your birth announcement.  This can be the classic wash board and laundry tub in one corner or even a cute little washing line illustration.  Search “laundry” on the baby theme search engine.

The teddy bear is a classic image for the birth announcement but remains a popular staple. As your own image may contain a teddy bear you may not want to repeat that in the actual design. Compliment a baby teddy photograph with a simple red, blue or green border with alphabet blocks at the corners. When the photograph is busy the background design or frame should be simple.

When it comes to pairing your baby photographs with your birth announcement background design always remember that less is really more. Your baby is always the star of the show so don’t crowd them out with too many patterns, colors or illustrations. Compliment or contrast but keep it simple.
