Campaign for Cuteness: Birth Announcement Yard Sign

Everywhere you look in my town lately there are yard signs. The campaign for mayor in middle of nowhere, Wyoming is on the verge of boiling over into revolution. And all because of the placement, professionalism and abundance of custom printed yard signs. So what about one for the new parents? What could be bigger news that the announcement of your child’s birth?

Now I must admit the yard sign birth announcement is not my own original thought. Many a birth announcement site or baby store will offer the unknowing and heavily hormonal mother to be some atrocious six foot tall inflatable or paper light contraption with which to scribble their child’s birth stats on with a marker pen. Shudder. Why would you do this when custom printing is so cheap these days?

Those giant birth announcements may make a bit of a splash on your street but they aren’t something you can feasibly hold onto. The plastic yard sign with custom printing is another story. All you have to do is take out the stakes and either frame in a shadow box or place straight on the wall of your new baby’s nursery. A small yard sign will not take up too much room in the baby memory box and will be an interesting and probably treasured keepsake for years to come.

For the yard sign birth announcement tasteful, proportional and attractive is the way to go. Think about color schemes that would separate your child’s birth announcement from streets full of empty promises, slick handshakes and signs meant to get votes. A new parent wants to express their joy and love and nothing more. Aaah what a refreshing yard sign that would be.

Avoid boring pink and blue on your custom yard sign; the traditional color palette doesn’t really suit the medium. Black and white is the most legible but intense purples and greens will have people stopping to read. How nice of you to put a smile on the face of passing strangers.  Everyone is happy when a new life comes into the world.

Browsing my beloved Internet I came across an offer of a small yard sign with custom printing and free yard stakes for less than twenty bucks. That’s less than twenty dollars for stranger’s smiles, nursery décor, memory making and childhood keepsakes.

Seems a small price to pay doesn’t it?
