Baby Announcements

The birth of a new child is the best thing in the world and something you want to commemorate and celebrate for as long as possible.  One way to make sure your family and friends are looking at your baby birth announcement on a daily basis for at least a year is to make birth announcement calendars.

Most online printing sites offer card calendars for business promotions or as holiday cards. In fact I used these last year for my own holiday cards and just replaced the business logo with a photograph of my baby boy and the text area I filled in his name and holiday greeting. This idea is easily adaptable for a birth announcement and will actually be cheaper than either a fold over or postcard style announcement.

There are absolutely hundreds of templates out there for promotional card calendars and they come in a number of different sizes. Find the one that’s right for you by narrowing your search by size, color scheme and theme. You could go for images that make you think of children or focus on one of the major holidays.

After uploading your child’s photograph and placing their full birth name under the photograph turn the calendar template over. Most online companies will prompt you to do this once you save the front design. Depending on the template there may be enough space for both the birth statistics as well as a personal greeting from the new parents.

Finish off the birth announcement calendars by gluing a small magnet (available at craft stores in bulk) to the back of the card to create an instant fridge magnet. Don’t forget to order matching envelopes. Circling the child’s birth date in red pen on the front of the card is a very cute way to ensure no one forgets the day your life changed forever.
